De Antonio Yachts consolidates its position as a leading brand in innovation and design during the 60th edition of the Barcelona Boat Show.

During the opening of the show, De Antonio Yachts received the visit of HM King Felipe VI at its stand and went aboard D42 Open.

The yacht brand De Antonio Yachts, founded by Marc de Antonio and Stanislas Chmielewski, has participated in a new edition of the Barcelona Boat Show.

During the show the main models of the brand were exhibited: the D50 Open, the D42 Open, the new D36 Open and the D28 Open. In addition, De Antonio Yachts had a stand at the entrance of the show dedicated to the new D28 Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid, a hybrid propulsion boat, developed together with Cupra, which incorporates a 400HP concealed outboard engine and two retractable electric motors at the stern.

Visit of King Felipe VI to De Antonio Yachts stand

During this edition, the Spanish shipyard has received the visit of His Majesty King Felipe VI at its stand who was interested in the latest models of the brand and climbed aboard the D42 Open model exhibited at the show checking firsthand the design and its innovative solution of hidden outboards, present throughout the range. During his visit he also toured the entire deck up to the helm station of the boat and was interested in the hull shapes and the straight bow design, one of the hallmarks of De Antonio Yachts’ boats.

The boat model visited by the King: D42 Open

The D42, which SM the King boarded, is a yacht that offers the best of sailing with an incomparable hydraulic stern platform to adjust its height to sea level. Its spectacular walkaround design with large sundecks, the lounge type living area and convertible into three different configurations together with the exterior galley make it unique. The D42 exceeds all expectations, with its interior habitability that stands out for its spaciousness, solutions such as a central garage for a small auxiliary together with the successful and recognized innovation of the brand in the hidden outboard engine that in this case is three 300HP engines. An ideal 12-meter family cruiser with sporty performance, intelligent solutions and exceptional design.

De Antonio Yachts has once again demonstrated during the show that it is the leading brand in innovation and design in its segment, positioning itself as one of the preferred and most visited brands during this year’s edition.

About De Antonio Yachts

De Antonio Yachts was born in 2012 from the passion of its founders, Marc de Antonio and Stan Chmielewski, for the sea and design, with the interest to innovate by creating boats with simple and avant-garde lines. Ten years later it has become a worldwide reference shipyard with production centers in Poland and Spain.

By offering the market new solutions, such as innovative concealed outboard engines for all models and applying concepts that improve efficiency, ease of use and performance, De Antonio Yachts has become a benchmark in the yachting sector.

As a result, the company has expanded internationally, with presence in the five continents and with a wide network of exclusive distributors, thanks to the range of its 8 models of different lengths, which have achieved 3 nominations and 1 award for European Motor Boat of the Year, along with other nominations and recognitions such as BOB awards or FAD awards.

All this work has positioned them as the Spanish shipyard with more projection in addition to consolidating their international success thanks to their latest launches, such as the D50 Open, their flagship.

One of their latest collaborations has been with Cupra, with whom they have developed a version that combines an outboard combustion engine with two electric motors, recently presented under the name of De Antonio Yachts-Cupra D28 Formentor e-Hybrid.

Two production centers, Poland and Spain

The production of its eight models is distributed between its production centers in Spain and Poland, totaling more than 10,000 m2 and a team of more than 300 people.

In Poland they have recently expanded their production capacity, with new facilities for the production of their largest model, the D50 Open and its new variant, the D50 Coupé, which will be presented in January at the Düsseldorf Motor Show.

Following the launch of its new models, De Antonio Yachts is working on new vessels for 2023, which will be announced later in the year.

Steady growth during a decade of success

De Antonio Yachts has been growing and consolidating its presence in the national and international market, with 60% of its boats being exported. The company closed 2021 with the delivery of 65 units, representing a 45% growth in turnover over the previous year. This progression is maintained for this 2022, with 75 units sold, 90 units confirmed for 2023 and 50% of production already booked for 2024.

Short-term objectives include continuing to evolve towards a more sustainable range of boats, reducing environmental impact through the use of recycled materials and the implementation of its new hybrid system across the entire range, in addition to the introduction of the first fully electric models in 2024.

J Class provide the perfect launchpad for Superyacht Cup Palma 2022

Superyacht Cup Palma 2022 got off to a flying start today with a quartet of J Class yachts conducting a superb symphony of sail racing out on the Bay of Palma to launch the latest edition of Europe’s longest-running superyacht regatta.

Two windward-leeward races in near perfect sailing conditions of 10 to 14 knots, saw the awe-inspiring 40m-plus J Class yachts – Ranger, Svea, Topaz and Velsheda – put on a masterclass of close-quarter racing, slick crew work and active tactical decision-making that saw the lead on the water changing on almost a leg-by-leg basis.

In the opening race the competition within the class was self-evident from the off, with Ranger over the line early in the fleet start and having to recross the line. At the top mark Topaz narrowly led Svea and Velsheda, with a hard-charging Ranger hot on their heels amid a determined fightback.

The decisive moment in the race came at the end of the first lap of two, with Topaz and Svea neck-and-neck but rounding opposite ends of the downwind gate, with Svea’s decision to take the left hand side of the upwind leg giving her a clear lead she was able to hold to the finish, taking the first race win ahead of Topaz, Ranger and Velsheda.

“The race win was a bit of a surprise, but we were very happy with that,” said Bouwe Bekking, tactician on Svea. “We were in the mix and that is the most important thing for us – we have no expectations being on the boat for the first time with a new team.

“But we were very happy the way we got around the track. We passed some boats, which is always good, so the crew work is going well and it all came together. The last race we were all within 20 seconds, and we lost out, and that’s sometimes the way it goes.”

With Palma’s fabled sea breeze now fully up and running, race two delivered a second instalment of top-line racing in brisk conditions, with correctly calling changes in the direction of the wind again proving the key to success. This time it was Velsheda that edged out a lead at the top mark, one that she was able to hold on the water to what was a tight fleet finish.

However, when the J Class rating system – designed to level the playing field for yachts of varied age, weight and construction – came into play it was Topaz that took the win with Velsheda second, followed by Ranger and, in a brisk change of fortune, Svea.

Topaz’s delighted race manager Tim Kroger said: “It was absolutely wonderful out there today, Palma at its best, Superyacht Cup at its best. It was a cool start off for us with the Js, and being together again with four boats on the startline is just a wonderful experience. We are all chuffed and blessed, and it’s really great.

“We had very, very close racing, not just on the water but also on corrected time and there were just seconds between us.”

And he added: “It is important to sail really, really well if you want to win. It’s not easy out there, all the boats have magnificent crews, very polished, very good guys. We are very humble in our approach, so it will be a hard battle to the last day.”

Overall the J Class leaderboard has Topaz on top with three points, Svea second on five, and Velsheda and Ranger tied on six points. Thursday sees the J Class foursome join the rest of the Superyacht Cup fleet for three further days of intense racing when they will be racing for the overall Superyacht Cup 2022 trophy.

“We knew that the J Class was going to bring a special element to Superyacht Cup Palma, and today has demonstrated that, it has been fantastic to have the fabulous four getting the whole event underway,” said SYC Event Director Kate Branagh.

“Tomorrow the rest of the fleet will also be in action, and we expect that the other two classes racing will be equally competitive, with all aiming for the overall Superyacht Cup Palma trophy.”

Back ashore and the highly valued social side of Superyacht Cup Palma got underway courtesy of SYC’s long-term race manager partner, and now host, the Real Club Náutico de Palma.

The captain’s briefing in RCNP’s Great Hall was followed by the Welcome Cocktail presented by SYC’s Destination Partner New Zealand and DYT Yacht Transport on the RCNP terrace.

Thursday’s Pantaenius Race Day will see the whole SYC fleet swing into action, followed by the North Sails & Southern Spars happy hour on the RCNP terrace. New Zealand Race Day on Friday and Saturday’s concluding St. Regis Race Day – supported by SYC’s Preferred Hotel Partner the St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International – completes the itinerary.

Also present during the regatta, alongside Official Timepiece Jaquet Droz, other SYC partners and friends include Silver Partners Astilleros de Mallorca, Evolution Sails, Gottifredi Maffioli, RSB Rigging, Marinepool, Vitters Shipyard, Baltic Yachts and Hoek Design.

New Zealand Race Day y St. Regis Race Day completarán el programa de la regata.

Además del reloj oficial Jaquet Droz y de los arriba mencionados, la Superyacht Cup Palma cuenta con los siguientes Silver Partners: Astilleros de Mallorca, Evolution Sails, Gottifredi Maffioli, RSB Rigging, Marinepool, Vitters Shipyard, Baltic Yachts y Hoek Design.
