CreatingIconicLuxury: The Mercedes-Benz brand history is a source of inspiration for the future.
From the three-pointed star to gullwing doors and cab-forward design: over the decades, the Mercedes-Benz design teams have created and established iconic elements. These are unmistakably associated with the brand, shaping the Mercedes-Benz myth and creating desire. The Mercedes-Benz design team will continue to develop the brand’s iconic style to further strengthen this heritage and carry it into the future.
PinnacleOfExclusivity: Exceptional customisation options, one-offs from collaborations, limited collector’s
and special editions, pioneering show cars and research and concept vehicles are the epitome of exclusivity for Mercedes-Benz.
IDCCarlsbad: The Mercedes-Benz Design Centers provide important impetus for the continuous
development of the design philosophy of sensual purity and for setting trends with new design ideas. At the International Design Center Carlsbad, the Mercedes-Benz design Team creates show car exteriors, vehicle studies and mobility concepts for tomorrow and beyond. It does this by picking up on stylistic trends on site, then analysing and creatively implementing them.
The Californian lifestyle influences the site just as much as its proximity to Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America. A very special form of creativity flourishes in Carlsbad, leaving its mark on Mercedes-Benz design and opening up new perspectives.
VisionOneEleven: With the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven, the brand presents a concept sports car that
progressively reinterprets the C 111, a brand icon of the 1970s. Much like its historic predecessor, it combines stunning design with the most innovative drive technology. The Vision One-Eleven makes use of axial flux motors from YASA, which have an unmatched power density far beyond comparable radial motors, while being extremely lightweight.
ExclusiveCollection: Mercedes-Benz is launching the “LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 111” collection along with the
Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven. This is the first time that an iconic design study has been accompanied by a lifestyle collection consisting of five exclusive pieces. In addition to the striking colour of the concept sports car, the individual accessories also reflect the vehicle’s characteristic design elements.
AugmentedReality: The Mercedes-Benz design team used augmented reality (AR) to create a visionary user
experience for the premiere of the Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven and integrated it into a virtual test model of the Vision One-Eleven interior. The physical vehicle interior and the digital interface merge seamlessly, so that virtually the entire car becomes a user interface.
To create the fastest road-legal car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife
Power-to-weight ratio of roughly one hp per 2.2 lbs. (1 PS per kilogram)
Significantly more downforce than the current 911 GT3 RS
Charges roughly twice as quickly as the Taycan Turbo S
At Porsche, innovative concept cars have always laid the groundwork for the future. The sports car manufacturer is continuing this tradition with this latest concept study. Mission X is a spectacular, conceptual reinterpretation of a hypercar, with Le Mans-style doors that open upwards to the front and an ultra high-performance, efficient electric powertrain.Atlanta. Celebrating 75 years of Porsche sports cars, the storied marque today revealed its newest concept car: the Mission X. As a design study, not offered for sale, with production to be decided in due time, the Mission X is a glimpse into what the sports car of the future could look like.
“The Porsche Mission X is a technology beacon for the sports car of the future. It picks up the torch of iconic sports cars of decades past: like the 959, the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder before it, the Mission X provides critical impetus for the evolutionary development of future vehicle concepts,” says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. “Daring to dream and dream cars are two sides of the same coin for us: Porsche has only remained Porsche by constantly changing.”
Michael Mauer, Head of Style Porsche, says:“The Mission X is a clear commitment to the core of the brand. The continuing, enhanced expression of our brand and product identity is an important compass for us to navigate the development of our series-production models. The concept study symbolizes a symbiosis of unmistakable motorsport DNA with a luxurious overall impression.”
Measuring approximately 177 inches long and 78.7 inches wide, the Mission X concept study is a relatively compact hypercar. With a wheelbase of 107.4 inches, it has the dimensions of the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder. For aerodynamic purposes, the concept car has staggered tires, with 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear.
Design: classic brand elements reinterpreted The Mission X represents the pinnacle of performance and modern luxury. At the same time, its sculpted form and muscular lines demonstrate that hypercars do not have to look aggressive. The low-slung body, which is less than 47.2 inches tall, is finished in Rocket Metallic – an elegant paint color specially designed for the concept study. Design elements in a carbon fiber are found below the beltline. These components have a satin finish and are therefore slightly colored, but their material structure remains recognizable.
The wheels of the concept study feature elaborate details: the rear axle is fitted with almost transparent aero blades, which are designed like turbines for better cooling of the brakes.
A lightweight glass dome with an exoskeleton made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) extends over both occupants. Le Mans-style doors are attached to the A-pillar and the roof; they open forwards and upwards. This type of door was previously used on the legendary Porsche 917 racing car. Another eye-catcher is the light signature: for the Mission X, the designers have reinterpreted the characteristic Porsche four-point graphic. The vertical base form of the headlights was inspired by historic racing cars such as the Porsche 906 and 908 and drawn well down towards the road. A high-tech support structure frames the LED light modules and presents the exposed narrow elements of daytime running lights and indicators. When activated, the light opens up like an eye blinking open. Fully illuminated, the headlights make a confident statement.
A full-length light unit that appears to float characterizes the rear of the Mission X. Transparent, illuminated Porsche lettering is a standout feature. The sculptural rear light emerges, as if suspended in the air, from a support structure and extends across the entire width of the vehicle in four segments. While charging, the ‘E’ of the Porsche lettering pulses.
One special detail is the modernized Porsche crest, which makes its debut on the Mission X. Brushed precious metal, a three-dimensional honeycomb structure, a refreshed heraldic beast and more subtle gold color – on close inspection, these are the differences between the modernized Porsche crest and its immediate forerunner. With its cleaner and more state-of-the-art execution, the refined crest communicates the character of Porsche. On the Mission X, it is found on the hood and steering wheel as well as in monochrome form on the wheel centers.
The driver focus can be seen in the asymmetry of the interior and its color concept. The two seats are colored differently. Apart from the leather pads in Andalusia Brown, the driver’s seat is Kalahari Grey and forms a single unit of color with the center console and the dashboard. The passenger seat is in the contrasting Andalusia Brown shade. Beyond the CFRP seat shells, and their six-point seatbelts integrated into the monocoque, further motorsport parallels include the open-top steering wheel, which has mode switches and shift paddles. There are multiple cameras on board. Recording starts as soon as the driver presses the Record button (REC) on the multi-purpose controller.
Another highlight is found on the passenger side, where there is a bayonet system embedded in the instrument panel to which a stopwatch module can be attached. For the Mission X, Porsche Design has created a special stopwatch module with an analogue and digital display. The clocks are designed for both racetrack and rally use and can display the lap times or vital data of the driver, among other information.
Technical vision: top marks in power-to-weight ratio, downforce and charging performance Porsche exemplifies e-performance yet is also a pioneer in sustainable mobility. The concept study meets both objectives in full measure. If the Mission X goes into series production, then it should: • be the fastest road-legal vehicle around the Nürburgring Nordschleife • have a power-to-weight ratio of roughly one hp per 2.2 lbs. • achieve downforce values that are well in excess of those delivered by the current 911 GT3 RS • offer significantly improved charging performance with its 900-volt system architecture and charge roughly twice as quickly as the current Porsche frontrunner, the Taycan Turbo S
The battery is installed centrally behind the vehicle’s seats. This ‘e-core layout’ centers the mass in the car. As with a conventionally powered mid-engine car, this provides the basis for excellent agility.
Predecessors: innovative super sports cars from Porsche The fastest series-production car of its time; first series-production Porsche to be made of carbon fiber, and the first road-legal vehicle to beat the seven-minute mark on the Nürburgring Nordschleife – the Porsche 959 (1985), Carrera GT (2003) and 918 Spyder (2013) were milestone models in the world of super sports cars. And that makes them the conceptual forerunners of the Mission X.
In 1985, the Porsche 959 made its debut as a technology platform. Its 443 hp six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine, combined with an aerodynamically optimized body, propelled the super sports car to a top speed of 197 mph – then the world record for a series-production sports car. With its V10 engine and 605 hp, fierce design and, not least, its incomparable driving experience, the Porsche Carrera GT remains an icon among super sports cars to this day.
Porsche hybrid technology reached a spectacular zenith with the 918 Spyder. In September 2013, the 887 hp two-seater was the first road-approved vehicle to crack the seven-minute barrier on the 12.8-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife, completing the lap in 6:57 minutes. Porsche aims to stay true to this standard of the highest e-performance: our vision, should the Mission X go into series production, is for it to be the fastest road-legal vehicle on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. On our press microsite for the Porsche Mission X you will find both the detailed press kit and a generous selection of additional photos and video

For Automobili Lamborghini, the year just ended was full of milestones and accolades that mark the company’s steady growth: the result of a roadmap and strategy that, as demonstrated within the latest figures, are proving to be successful.
Lamborghini continues to confirm positive trends following the inevitable impact of the pandemic that affected nearly every industry. For the past two years the company has continued its impressive growth not only in terms of sales, but also by the awards and certifications received, which demonstrate Lamborghini’s commitment to the various contexts in which it operates, from sustainability to human resources.
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A
The Sant’Agata Bolognese-based company continues on its growth path, achieving yet another sales record delivering more than 9,000 cars
In terms of numbers, Automobili Lamborghini continues to break records and also for 2022 saw the best sales figures ever. In fact, the company delivered 9,233 cars worldwide, an increase of 10% over the previous year.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked: “Our trend of growth and development continues, and this shows that our direction is sound and our choices are on the mark. This is the product of well-defined collective assessments that can produce consistent and concrete results. We have been able to carefully and meticulously manage an extraordinary order intake, pursuing a clear strategy with the primary objective of maintaining controlled growth to protect the exclusivity of our brand. 2023 is going to be a year of challenges and changes that we are ready to confront by always pushing ourselves beyond. We now have the opportunity to focus on our next objectives also thanks to an 18-month waiting list, which enables us to look to the future and the upcoming goals with confidence.”
A further acceleration of this trajectory will take place in 2023, when the first hybrid cars will be produced and Lamborghini enters the second phase of our Direzione Cor Tauri program: a strategic roadmap unveiled in 2021 that involves the highest-ever investment in the company’s history (1.8 billion euros over five years) delivering the hybrid transition and subsequently the transition to fully-electric vehicles.
In all macro-regions the sign was clearly positive, maintaining a homogeneous and consistent distribution, with Asia registering +14%, followed by America with +10% and finally EMEA with +7% compared to 2021. Sales, in almost all key markets, broke all records. This was also thanks to the high reputation the brand enjoys internationally, with the number of dealers increasing from 173 to 180 in just one year and with a presence in 53 different countries.
The United States remains in the top spot (2,721 cars delivered, up 10% over the previous year), followed by Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong & Macau (1,018 cars delivered, up 9% over the previous year), Germany (808 cars delivered, up 14% over the previous year), United Kingdom (650 cars delivered, up 15% over the previous year) and Japan (546 cars delivered, up 22% over the previous year).
In terms of models, the Urus1 Super SUV’s success is confirmed (5,367 units delivered, up 7% over 2021), followed by an impressive increase of the Huracán2 (3,113 units delivered, up 20% over 2021) and the Aventador3 with 753 units delivered, reaching the end of its production in September 2022.
In terms of product, 2022 was a year full of news, starting with the launch of the Huracán Tecnica in April, which consolidates the level of expertise Lamborghini has achieved in the field of design and engineering. The V10-powered rear-wheel drive car condenses the fun and driving dynamics of a Huracán STO into a new, sleeker look suitable for everyday use with the addition of aerodynamic enhancements aimed at boosting performance, stability and ease of use on both road and track. November saw another V10 unveiling of the Huracán Sterrato, the first super sports car designed to offer the ultimate driving pleasure away from conventional roads on loose surfaces, in a totally unique combination.
Last year was also a very important one for the Urus Super SUV, with the entry of two brand new models. At The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering event held in California in August, Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the all-new Urus Performante, which highlights sportiness and performance by focusing on a design that showcases its incredible capabilities on the road, on the track, and on loose surfaces. The new Super SUV boasts a power of 666 hp and a weight reduction of 47 kg, earning it a best-in-class weight-to-power ratio of 3.2. The Urus Performante also broke the record for a production SUV on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb track, setting the best time ever with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 3.3 seconds and a 100 to 0 km/h braking distance of 32.9 m. In September 2022, Automobili Lamborghini introduced to the market the Urus S, the latest successor to the Urus. The Urus S offers more power combined with unprecedented versatility and design, consolidating the Super SUV concept in the luxury car segment. Its twin-turbo V8 engine delivers a power of 666 hp4, equaling that of the Performante but introducing specific sophisticated refinements in the design, with a significant increase in options in terms of colors and finishes for wheels, style packages, and interior and exterior details.
The past year was also a time of great success in terms of the awards received by the House of Sant’Agata. Some of the most significant recognitions concern employees and HR activity, such as the Italy Top Employer, received for the ninth year in a row and attesting to the best corporate welfare practices that have been promoted for years by putting people at the center of the business. In the sphere of human resources, another recognition came from IDEM certification, as the first company certified in the automotive sector in Italy for its commitment to gender equality. In November 2022, the company also renewed its DESI project (Dual Education System Italy), now in its fifth year, designed to train young students with the goal of developing them into qualified technicians for the Motor Valley technology district and Lamborghini itself.
Participating students have the opportunity to acquire highly qualified and innovative technical and professional skills, as well as earning a five-year vocational education diploma thanks to the combined approach of theoretical classroom lessons and in-company learning experiences.
Automobili Lamborghini also had the great satisfaction of having received, for the second year in a row, the “Green Star Award”, which recognizes the company’s commitment to sustainability.
In light of the many initiatives, investments and efforts the company puts into practice daily to improve the quality of the planet, this award recognizes it as among the most sustainable companies in Italy.

Lamborghini’s commitment to the purchasing experience is, as always, more than just waiting for delivery of a new car, and has created a contact program designed to make the customer experience unique and complete.
The 112 owners of the Countach LPI 800-4, which was already sold out before the official launch last August at Pebble Beach, will not only have the privilege of driving a piece of automotive history reinvented for the future, but will also receive a series of special collectors’ item gifts, which make delivery of the car even more memorable. Each item is certified and numbered, celebrating skilled craftsmanship and innovation: the items are not for sale, and are dedicated and delivered exclusively to Countach LPI 800-4 customers.
On signing their order, owners of the Countach LPI 800-4 received a congratulatory letter from Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. A collectors’ item in its own right, the elegant letter’s papermaking techniques feature an intricate interplay of laser-engraved solids and voids, constructing and deconstructing the silhouette of the Countach LPI 800-4, and bearing the CEO’s message of sincere congratulations.
In the initial months of waiting, Countach LPI 800-4 customers received one of 112 numbered replicas of an exclusive painting created, as per tradition, by Mateusz Wowk, exterior designer and artist at Lamborghini’s Centro Stile, led by the Head of Design, Mitja Borkert. With the original work created on a large canvas in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the painting was digitally captured using gigapixel technology: one of the most advanced digital acquisition technologies adopted by museums. The work was then replicated in large format on canvas to reproduce the typical materiality of Mateusz’s brushstrokes and a classic example, typical of Lamborghini, in which art takes shape through ultra-high-tech processes.
Countach LPI 800-4 owners enjoy the further anticipation of receiving further unique items via the Lamborghini dealer network, involving internationally renowned artists as well as Italian artisans who represent the pinnacle of Italian creativity: Lamborghini enthusiasts can also share the pleasure of these works of art, on wheels or otherwise, through the social media posts that Lamborghini owners generously delight in sharing.
Ferox Corp | Azaris is a six wheeled Off-Road advanced vehicle.
Unbound by the traditional nexus between the wheels, drivetrain and chassis – providing exceptional capabilities for extreme terrains.
Using Ferox technology, Azaris pushes the boundaries of vehicle design and brings future envisaged transport to life.
As our first fully operating prototype, Azaris is just the beginning.
There’s nothing else like Azaris in the world.
THEME BOARDS & CREATIVE INSPIRATION
During a creative process, we use a combination of internal elements, such as our experiences and intuition, as well as external factors from the world around us to spark ideas.
Creating theme boards is a way of visually compiling our thoughts, ideas, inspiration and research that forms a tool, in which to draw from.
Theme boards can be used to build a story, as a collection of ideas to explore or as a way to establish a certain feeling or mood.
AZARIS DESIGN THEME BOARD
The core of the Azaris vehicle is its innovative technology which uses fluid as the medium to transfer force.
Fluid flows, is free and is alive. From these qualities various ideas were explored and combined to inspire our design language.
A splash of water is one way of seeing water in motion. Every splash of water is individual in nature; however, shares a set of common characteristics – as the water stretches it forms a flow, creating soft and sharp lines whilst also generating negative space.
We drew further inspiration from the human muscular system. Seeing how each muscle wraps and intertwines around the other, each serving a purpose with strength and adaptability, forming the basis of our movement.
Continuing to draw from life, we explored the structure that exists within all living beings. That structure being the DNA strand. This unique form was the underlying inspiration for the DNA Arms on Azaris.
AZARIS HEADLIGHT THEME BOARD
In keeping with the water theme for the Azaris, a few different forms of water were explored.
Ice caves and geodes were the main inspiration behind the Azaris’ headlight design.
This geometric aesthetic was chosen to contrast against the fluid surfaces of the Azaris’ body, adding interest to the Azaris’ ‘eyes’.
We see prisms and faceted lenses as a key design element in the future of Advanced Vehicles to assist vehicles with interpreting their surroundings.
COLOUR & TRIM THEME BOARDS
During the design process, we use colour and trim theme boards to guide the aesthetics of a vehicle, from the physical form all the way through to the surface treatment and colours.
How a vehicle is perceived and initially experienced is largely influenced by its colour.
ROBUST & STEALTHY
During the concept stage, the Azaris’ strong, tough and agile capabilities were identified.
To express this, we explored a dark colour palette comprising of gunmetals and anodised finishes, evoking a robust and stealthy presence.
FUTURISTIC & TECHY
Another early concept highlighted the Azaris’ innovation and potential for futuristic advancement.
Here a rather clean ‘Utopian’ aesthetic was created with the use of white, contrasted with metals, silvers and translucency, giving the vehicle a lighter, efficient feeling.
ENVIRONMENTAL & NATURAL
The Ferox Technology has the potential to make vehicles more connected to and conscious of the environments they operate in, with the Azaris prototype being the first step in the journey.
Drawing inspiration from our natural world, and in particular paying homage to the Australian landscape, red earthy tones would be combined with watery blues and raw materials such as metals and stone.
OCEAN BLUES
In keeping with the water theme for the Azaris, we explored one of the most powerful forces of water – an ocean wave.
An ocean wave consists of a plethora of different blues, ranging from dark to light, warm to cool and satin to glossy finishes.
These contrasting colour features illustrate motion and expresses the transformative nature of the Ferox Technology.
This concept was selected and further developed for the Azaris colour scheme.
This case study has been put together to help educate and share our process with the community.
The images used in our theme boards come from various sources as a part of our internal research process.

Vision AMG show car offers glimpse of all-electric future of Mercedes-AMG
Dedicated AMG.EA architecture for all-electric AMG models forms basis for extraordinary study
Affalterbach/Nice. Spectacular proportions defined by a long wheelbase and emphasised by short overhangs, powerful shoulders, large wheels, a distinctive rear spoiler and star-shaped headlamp signature – the Vision AMG makes an emotional statement from every perspective.
Design Essentials IV – The Art of Creating Desire, 2022, Nice: Vision AMG
This extraordinary show car from Mercedes-AMG offers a glimpse of the all-electric future of AMG Driving Performance. Beneath the breath‑taking exterior design of the four-door coupé is the equally extraordinary dedicated AMG.EA platform, which is currently under development in Affalterbach for all-electric performance models.
“AMG is reinventing itself. As was once the case with our founding fathers, there has been an amazing feeling of new beginnings here in Affalterbach for quite some time now. The course has been well and truly set for an electrified future, and we’ve set the bar high. That’s because our customers expect something very special from all-electric cars. We have already well and truly proven our expertise in this regard with the SLS AMG Electric Drive, our own E PERFORMANCE hybrid technology and the first Mercedes-EQ derivatives. With this study, we are now offering a first glimpse of how we are transferring the AMG DNA into the all‑electric future, starting in 2025. Gorden and his team are pointing the way from a visual perspective with this extraordinary design. At AMG, we have always stood for that extra shot of emotion, driving fun, handling, ingenious aerodynamic features and other innovative solutions. And that’s what we continue to stand for with our first BEV developed entirely in Affalterbach. We’re developing everything from scratch, from the dedicated AMG.EA platform to the revolutionary drivetrain technology with which we will take performance electric mobility to a whole new level,” says Philipp Schiemer, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

“The Vision AMG shows in spectacular style what electrification could look like at Mercedes-AMG, while staying true to the brand aesthetic. The study’s extreme proportions create fascination and passion for performance – that’s what AMG is all about. The Vision AMG is an impressive embodiment of the brand’s dual polarity – the interplay of beauty and the extraordinary.

At the same time, elements from the future, such as the light signatures with the illuminated high-tech grille, underscore the progressive evolution of our design language of Sensual Purity,” says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “With its contrasting modern surfacing and radical proportions, this car showcases the next design step, building on the VISION EQXX and moving further towards performance luxury. The seamless flow of beautifully formed surfaces and the monolithic sculpture complete the powerful aesthetic of the Vision AMG. The result is an electric supercar, a style icon that stimulates desire – and that’s exactly what sets a luxury sports car apart.”

Monolithic sculpture and radical proportions
The concept car is characterised by flowing, beautifully formed surfaces. Joints and shut lines are reduced to a minimum, and the rear and side windows are painted in the same Alubeam silver as the car itself. The result is an overall look that reinforces the impression of a monolithic sculpture.
Design Essentials IV – The Art of Creating Desire, 2022, Nice: Vision AMG
The sporty proportions are particularly evident from the side, and are defined by the technical layout – long wheelbase, sharply raked A-pillar positioned far forward, short front overhang and slightly longer, aerodynamically optimised rear overhang. It clearly expresses the design language of Sensual Purity with distinctive sports car cues such as the widely flared wheel arches and broad, muscular shoulders at the rear.

The graceful greenhouse is integrated into the flowing overall form and blends seamlessly into the low-lying silhouette. The roof tapers as its line drops elegantly towards the rear, flowing directly into the rear spoiler. The overall effect is a visually fascinating and aerodynamically advantageous teardrop form, not unlike that of the VISION EQXX. The sensual surfacing and the powerfully defined sculpture are representative of the hallmark Mercedes design language. Similarly, the brand’s aspiration to the extraordinary is realised through the radical proportions and sharply chiselled shark nose. The Vision AMG is thus an impressive example of the dual polarity of the brand’s design approach embracing “Beauty & the Extraordinary”.

The sharply angled tear-off edge at the rear incorporates an active spoiler, elongating the side view while at the same time improving the aerodynamics. It is framed by a precisely cut band of light that accommodates a variety of different light installations, providing an effective contrast with the large black AMG logo on the rear of the car.

Breathtaking technology for hallmark performance
The technology of the Vision AMG tributes the spectacular design in many ways. All of its drivetrain components are developed entirely from scratch: not only the AMG.EA platform itself, but also the dedicated high-performance high-voltage battery and the revolutionary drive technology. The powerful heart of the Vision AMG is its innovative Axial Flux Motor developed by Mercedes-Benz’ wholly owned subsidiary YASA. With its compact and lightweight design it delivers substantially more power than conventional electric motors.
Closed-off AMG grille with illuminated bars
The AMG-specific grille with vertical bars is retained as a distinctive brand feature – despite the fact that an all-electric drivetrain does not require a classic radiator at the front. The high-tech development of the grille is therefore closed off, painted in body colour and fully integrated into the front end. As the visual focal point, the grille emphasises the futuristic look of the Vision AMG with its illuminated bars and three-dimensional exterior contour. The three-pointed star is positioned prominently on the bonnet – as on the Mercedes‑AMG Project ONE.

Extraordinary star-shaped light signature
The headlamp light signature points directly into the future. Three LED elements form a stylised, three‑dimensional Mercedes star, ensuring the Mercedes and AMG branding is immediately apparent and unmistakable by night and day. The two headlamps are visually connected via the horizontal band of light above the grille. This light band can display a variety of animations – ranging from a welcome signature to constant light.
The round lights at the rear have a light design that is new yet familiar. On each side, three LED rings are positioned in cylindrical tubes. Here, too, small stars offer a nod to the Mercedes brand. By way of contrast, the expressive rear diffuser is painted deep black.

Connection to Formula 1 through form and colour cues
The direct connection to the successful Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team is evident in further visual details. These include the silver paintwork with a large-format star pattern across the shoulders and rear wings, functional elements in exposed carbon-fibre, the aerodynamic design of the 22-inch wheels with aero claddings, the AMG logo and elements on the sills and diffuser in the Petronas colours.
The sporty high-tech seamless design and the breath-taking proportions give the Vision AMG a futuristic character. The four-door configuration also makes clear that the show car offers a taste of a functional all‑electric sports car of the future. Despite the battery pack in the floor of the car between the axles, the study sits considerably lower than the EQS and, thanks to its intelligently designed interior floor, offers plenty of space for four.
