Dynamiq goes behind the scenes of the 50-metre GTT 160’s timeless design

Dynamiq presents the video encapsulation of what the revolutionary GTT 160 model is all about.

The short film includes statements from Dynamiq, the expert naval architects at Van Ossannen and the cult design guru Claudio Pironi, the mastermind behind GTT 160’s exquisite interiors.

The avant-garde, all-aluminium 49.5-metre vessel represents what Dynamiq thinks is essential for modern superyachts – cool looking, efficient, and focused on a healthy lifestyle. The GTT 160 is aimed at today’s active owners who can’t imagine their holidays without gourmet cuisine, sport, and well-being.

It’s a yacht for owners who like to spend most of their time on deck, in the open air and close to the water, as well as those who want to experience different destinations or cross the Atlantic quickly to enjoy endless summers in the Med and Caribbean on a more manageable and economical size of yacht.

The GTT  160 is complete with bespoke, minimalist interiors by Claudio Pironi, which maximize space and allow you to feel luxury regardless of where you choose to sail.

About DYNAMIQ

Dynamiq was founded in Monaco in 2014 by experienced yacht broker and designer Sergei Dobroserdov, who assembled a ‘dream team’ of world thinkers, engineers and naval architects to turn the next-generation superyacht concept into reality. “I simply believe we can propose something better that offers owners more choice: versatile yachts perfect for any occasion, whether it’s relaxing family cruising, vibrant deck parties and exploring the remotest destinations. Fast but with ocean-going range, easy to order and customise with top world brands,” says founder and CEO Sergei Dobroserdov. Dynamiq is the first company in the superyacht industry to introduce an online configurator, allowing the yacht to be easily and transparently customised down to the last detail. Dynamiq unveiled its first launch, 39m Jetsetter, at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show to wide acclaim. The following project, the GTT 115, was developed in conjunction with the renowned design firm Studio F.A. Porsche and successfully unveiled at the 2017 MYS.  The GTT 135 Stefania (41m), will be delivered in autumn 2021.

Dynamiq has established the most advanced approach in the industry; the yacht can be completely configured online with all necessary extras and options.

Prices and delivery dates are available online at www.bedynamiq.com.

Fibonacci, the 200 kW electric super asymmetric catamaran
Turin’s Icona Design last popped up on our radar with an insanely expensive, v8-engined supercar prototype called the Vulcano whose entire bodywork was fashioned from raw titanium. Now, it’s back with an electric yacht design inspired by “the numbers of nature.”

The Icona Fibonacci, a catamaran design out of Turin, Italy

Icona Design

The Icona Fibonacci is an asymmetrical catamaran. Its chief nod to the Fibonacci sequence would appear to be a pair of sprawling ornamental staircases that wrap themselves around the sides giving access to the flying upper deck and the helm. It might have made more sense to call it the Steinway because its roof lifts off like the lid of a grand piano and the overall shape reminds us more of that than of a seashell.

Still, this 55-footer (16.7 m) is a beauty to look at in the renders, reasonably compact but with defined areas for socializing, sunbathing and below-deck privacy.

Icona Design

It would be powered by a pair of 200-kilowatt (270-hp) electric motors, running off a pair of 340-kWh battery packs that make it suitable for weekend cruises with around 12 hours of cruising and another 12 hours of sitting about enjoying yourself. Pure range would be about 150 miles (240 km) when cruising at 10 knots (11.5 mph, 18.5 km/h). Charging could supposedly be accomplished in 20 minutes according to the company, but that seems like a ludicrous miscalculation to us.

Extending the range may be possible using a polymer electrolyte hydrogen fuel cell arrangement that keeps things relatively eco-friendly while seriously upping the energy density – although you’ll have to give up some space below deck to go that way.

Will this one make it to the prototype stage, or will it merely serve as a portfolio piece for Icona and its partners Hydrotec, Terra Modena, ASG Power and Studio RPR? It’s hard to say, but it sure is a nice thing to look at.

It was designed with cooler climates in mind; as such, a series of sliding doors and foldable bulwarks can transform the aft beach club, dining area, and open galley from an open-air oasis to a warm, cozy retreat in seconds. Four cabins are spread across the lower deck, including a spacious master suite with a circular bed from Bentley home and an onyx bath with custom.

The first edition of the GTM 90 is being developed in collaboration with leading VIP-car tuner Klassen with interior decor that mirrors the design of exclusive Klassen vans with different leathers, rich wood panelling and elegant LED courtesy lights. Klassen will also be responsible for all the exterior detailing, including leather supply, stitching and other special automotive design features.

“Dynamiq and Klassen share the same values related to high-end materials, engineering, finishing and maximum comfort on board for their demanding clientele. It’s all about flawless perfection and first-class comfort on land and sea.”
