KTM X-BOX a revolutionary sports car Concept
REVOLUTIONARY. PURISTIC. RADICAL.
The production KTM X-BOW is KTM’s interpretation of a super sports car for the 21st century. “We took Colin Chapman’s idea of a spartan, lightweight sports car reduced to the bare essentials and transfered it into the new millennium – with as many technological innovations as possible”, says KTM CEO Stefan Pierer, of the first four-wheeled model in KTM’s history
ICONIC DESIGN FROM KISKA
The design concept. Focused on only including elements that directly add to the performance and function of the vehicle. Trim away and leave off everything else. Assemble the best suppliers of the necessary components and use the strongest, lightest and most advanced materials available. However, no other car epitomises the term “super sports car” as thoroughly and uncompromisingly as the KTM X-BOW.

With the KTM X-BOW GT, KISKA has designed a vehicle whose exceptional characteristics can now also be experienced without a helmet. The elegant, frameless windscreen construction, which wraps protectively around the driver and passenger in the same way as a helmet visor, allows the occupants to forego their own headgear. At the same time, however, it does nothing to impair the pure driving experience or the radical design of the revolutionary KTM X-BOW.

The next step: The KTM X-BOW GT4, developed in partnership with racing car specialist Reiter Engineering, yet using iconic KISKA design language again, marked KTMs step into international car racing and brought lightweight sensation into the field of GT4 championships worldwide.

Performance and purism, united in a unique, extreme design, and armed for adventures on the most legendary race tracks in the world. The KTM X-BOW GTX & GT2 will set new benchmarks for lightweight racing cars, keeping the focus on the essentials: further weight reduction, increased engine performance, enhanced aerodynamics, refined handling. Furthermore, it will contain new technical features and decisive enlargement of usability. The KTM X-BOW GTX & GT2 also set standards in matters of
PURE RACE BRED TECHNOLOGY
The carbon monocoque, which is unique for sports cars, was derived directly from a Dallara Formula 3 chassis. The extremely high shoulders of the monocoque protect much more effectively than any other technical solution in the event of a side impact. The front crash box, connected to the monocoque, meets the Formula 3 and sports car standards. The carbon monocoque itself is a four-layer construction that is double-walled from the driver’s torso on. Like the monocoque itself, the roll hoops come directly from Formula racing and, in the worst case, are able to carry 2.5 times the vehicle weight.
THE CHASSIS WAS DEVELOPED WITH ITALIAN SPORTS CAR SPECIALIST DALLARA AND COMPOSITE EXPERTS FROM KTM TECHNOLOGY. ENGINE PARTNER AUDI REFINED THE PERFORMANCE AND WP CREATED A SUSPENSION SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING AND CORNERING AGILITY, ENABLING THE 790 KILOGRAM SUPER SPORTS CAR TO CHALLENGE NEARLY EVERY EXISTING SPORTS CAR.
The world’s first production car with a full carbon composite monocoque that weighs only 80 kilograms, yet has exceptional levels of safety. Aerodynamics refined from open-wheel racing, jointly developed by KTM Technologies and Dallara produces up to 400 kg downforce at 200 km/h*, allowing up to 2 G of lateral acceleration – superior to any other street legal car!
