The famous gemstone pattern has been reproduced using coloured composites inserted into the mass of a 3D carbon case. A world first, exclusively unveiled in Miami during the Hublot Loves Art in Miami event.

A Manufacture is a racing engine: designed to run at full capacity. Hublot’s engine is at the cutting edge of technology. In Nyon, the brand has one of the most modern manufactures on the Swiss watchmaking landscape. Fully integrated, totally focussed on innovation, it not only pushes the boundaries of creativity: it draws them itself. Hublot has its own R&D department, which allows it to think the unthinkable and achieve what no-one else has imagined. And Art Basel in Miami has just been the stage for one of its latest achievements.

The ‘MP-09 Tourbillon Bi-Axis 5-Day Power Reserve is entirely designed by Hublot and  takes the iconic Rainbow design and thrusts it into the 21st century. Everything had to be reinvented: the concept, the method, the tools, the materials, and all the associated colour ranges.

The starting idea is relatively simple: to reproduce the Rainbow effect of coloured gemstones but using carbon and composites as opposed to gemstones. This exceptionally complex achievement reproduces the natural variations usually achieved by the natural variation of diamonds,, rubies, sapphires and emeralds on the surface of the case.

Thanks to its powerful watchmaking and industrial machinery, and the ingenuity of its researchers, Hublot was able to overcome considerable manufacturing complexities one after the other. In the traditional technique, the human hand chooses the stones that have already been formed over millions of years and then assembles them according to their colour; here, each tiny insert in different shades has to be created one by one.

In essence, the case is braided.  Thin bars of carbon are laid flat, a few millimetres apart. Afterwards, bars of coloured composite are placed vertically into the gaps and protrude slightly from the carbon. This height difference is then filled with a third carbon mesh that raises all components to the same level. Both carbon and composites are threaded into the mass across all three dimensions: length, width and height.

To achieve this result, hundreds of coloured inserts had to be created. As the eye spontaneously combines them to recreate a harmonious and natural gradation, the effect is almost an optical illusion. In reality, Hublot had to develop a complete prism of infinite shades to reproduce the brilliance of gemstones – a first in watchmaking.

The colour of each insert darkens slightly as it set within the carbon case. This had to be kept in mind while creating them, as the final result would be slightly different once the inserts were in place.  Another challenge was to position each composite in the right place so that the incredible amount of work would disappear and become seamless to the naked eye. The new MP-09’s surface is entirely smooth and polished to the touch. Each insert is imperceptibly cropped with carbon, and polished and adjusted to the nearest micron. Never before has a watch boasted as many shades of coloured composite as the new Mp-09. A world first.

As for the movement, this new MP-09 keeps the exceptional calibre that has been its beating heart since its inception: the HUB9009.H1.RA.B movement with manual winding and a 5-day power reserve. It comes with a bi-axial tourbillon with one complete rotation per minute for the first axis and a second rotation every 30 seconds for the second axis. This hypnotic unique double rotation has guided the design of the case with curved sides, which displays the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, within a new, colourful architecture and strictly limited to 8 pieces.

Bugatti Reveals ƎB.03 Edition with Champagne Carbon, Inspired by Bolide

The latest collaboration between Bugatti and Champagne Carbon – the ƎB.03 Edition – is tied inextricably to Bolide, the most extreme Bugatti creation ever. A bespoke dual-tone carbon fiber bottle, containing a powerful and expressive vintage Blanc de Blancs, is the perfect pairing to Bugatti’s latest hyper sports car.

The Bugatti Bolide1 is envisioned as the ultimate driving machine; the distillation of the brand into its purest and most authentic form. A track-only production car unlike anything else. Now, Champagne Carbon has revealed Bolide’s perfect pairing: the ƎB.03 Edition.

The new champagne is the latest result of a partnership between Bugatti and Champagne Carbon, first established in 2018. The debut creation, champagne ƎB.01, arrived as a celebration of Bugatti’s 110th anniversary, bringing a blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir in a bottle wrapped in blue-tinted carbon fiber. The ƎB.02 was the second development of the partnership, marking the anniversary of the Chiron Super Sport 300+2 breaking the magical 300 mph barrier. Contained within the carbon fiber wrapped bottle – finished in black and orange – was a 2006 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru.

Inspired by the Bolide’s unprecedented driving experience and design, the ƎB.03 Edition boasts a dual tone exterior, comprising of both blue and black carbon fiber – a first within the Champagne Carbon For Bugatti Collection. The Bolide’s striking ‘X’ design motif, which dominates both the front and rear of the car, is hallmarked on both the right and left side of the ƎB.03 bottle.

The contents of the bottle – a vintage 2013 Blanc de Blancs – is the result of a cold and wet winter in 2013, followed by a cool spring and a late grape harvest. Such conditions produce an intense and fresh wine, with good acidity and excellent ageing potential.

Alexandre Mea, CEO at Champagne Carbon, said: “This creation, Champagne Carbon ƎB.03, is a breathtaking technical accomplishment. For the first time we have managed to combine two colors of fiber in one bottle. A complete piece of art made by our master craftsmen. The black fiber base perfectly contrasts the main body of the bottle, an intense sky blue. On the champagne side, this 2013 vintage brings with it initial scents of citrus, followed by aromas of spring flowers. Then a growing intensity toward yellow citrus, toasty notes and aromatic herbs. On the palate it provides an initial intensity, followed by a creamier more velvety texture. The finish reveals hints of acidity. The ƎB.03 will enhance a delicate recipe such as a scallop ceviche, a red tuna sashimi or a filet of Saint-Pierre with citrus fruits.”

The Bolide represents the ultimate incarnation of the Bugatti style philosophy of ‘Form follows performance’. It’s founded on an uncompromising approach to lightweight construction; everything is optimized and nothing is superfluous. It pays homage to Bugatti’s glorious motorsport past of the 1920s, which was built around lightweight agile cars at a time when most racing cars were enormous powerful brutes.

It sits low to the ground, with sharp edges, extended diffusers and a gaping roof-mounted intake critical for cooling. In combination with the striking rear diffuser, the dominant rear wing results in high downforce and therefore also optimum traction. As with other Bugatti vehicles, the design team opted for a for a dual-tone finish but the proportion of bare carbon fiber is greater than in other Bugatti cars to reflect Bolide’s purity of purpose.

AERODINÁMICA

Se ha hecho especial hincapié en el estudio y diseño de la aerodinámica, ya que son dos factores en los que nos hemos apoyado para la construcción de todo el coche, lo que lo convierte en la actualidad en el mejor vehículo después de la F1.

A velocidades de más de 500 km en condiciones de pista, para lograr el tiempo de giro máximo, todo debe estar perfectamente diseñado y debemos agotar todo el margen de mejora.

El spoiler delantero proporciona una carga aerodinámica total de 2.780 N y una resistencia total de 408 N y una eficiencia aerodinámica: Ci / Cd = 6.813, números y proporciones que solo se pueden encontrar en los autos de F1.

El piso también está diseñado de manera innovadora, con el fin de aprovechar el efecto Venturi, es decir, la diferencia de presión y velocidad de la parte superior del automóvil con la inferior y minimizar la elevación del automóvil y empujarlo al suelo con mayor fuerza en combinación con el gran difusor.

The newest product from the Bugatti Lifestyle collection is a Pool Table that is adorned in carbon fiber, built to the matching high standards of the famous model range from the French luxury marque. Now Bugatti aficionados can build on their dedication to Molsheim at home – or at sea – with the new Pool Table featuring optional highly advanced gyroscopic self-levelling technology for use on a yacht.

The Bugatti Lifestyle collection has expanded once again with the addition of the Bugatti Pool Table that reflects the best qualities of the hyper sports cars made in Molsheim. The officially licensed Pool Table – made in partnership with IXO®, designers and specialists of carbon fiber product construction – is the ideal addition for any Bugatti collector.

True to the Bugatti name, the Pool Table uses innovative technology to give it the edge over rival products. An optional servo-driven system deploys a gyroscopic sensor to level the table – in case of installation on board a yacht. Each leg can move to compensate for the movement of a ship and remain perfectly level. The system can adjust in just 5 milliseconds, and the movement is completed in total silence with vibration-free adjustment.

Just like the hyper sports cars made in Molsheim, the Bugatti Pool Table is made of the highest quality materials and even wears the famous Bugatti badge. The carbon fiber finish of the Pool Table represents the sporting nature of the French luxury marque, while the strong frame of the table is underpinned by machined aluminum and titanium. The product meets the standards of a professional tournament pool table.

A unique plate adorns each Bugatti Pool Table, displaying the famous Bugatti logo and the limited-edition number for each product – just like with every hyper sports car receives from the Atelier. The Pool Table is made in a limited run of 30 tables, with five to be made by IXO® in 2021. The sides of the drawers of the Pool Table are manufactured with CNC-machined, brushed and anodized aluminum, complete with the Bugatti logo. Ball pockets made from stainless steel are lined with leather, with fittings complete with titanium screws and nuts to prevent corrosion from aluminum parts.

While the Bugatti Pool Table complements any hyper sports car in a collection, products in a range of official accessories are the perfect match for this sports equipment. The wall cue support is finished in carbon fiber, also featuring a 13-inch, high-resolution touch screen to keep track of scores. The carbon fiber pool cues feature anodized and CNC-machined aluminum ends that are made to the same design of the buttons of Bugatti hyper sports cars.

A dimmable LED ceiling light is also made with carbon fiber, while other official branded Bugatti accessories include a chalk box, finished in black with anodized aluminum, cleaning brush in black, a suitcase made in Bugatti leather to transport the set of Aramith Tournament Pro balls while a USB key, presented also in a CNC-machined aluminium case, includes photos and videos of each table made, so the customer could see the full history of the manufacturing steps of their Pool Table. The box is lined with the same leather used in the construction of the Pool Table.

These white inclusions are formed of glass microfibres created as a non-woven fabric (NWF), used mainly to improve the breaking strength of composites: This NWF is then co-impregnated with the carbon fibres using tinted epoxy resin when the composite preforms are created in a special mould.

Bentley Motors is preparing to unveil the most dynamic road car in its 101 year history.

Designed, engineered, developed and handcrafted in Bentley’s carbon neutral luxury automotive factory, the new third-generation Continental GT Speed is the ultimate performance-focused interpretation of the world’s benchmark luxury Grand Tourer.
With highly advanced chassis technology, and styling cues specific to Continental GT Speed, the extraordinary journey continues at 16:00 GMT, 23rd March 2021

La Ultra Carbon es una bicicleta eléctrica totalmente personalizada que trabaja en sinergia con su piloto.

Cada detalle ha sido estudiado para encontrar la singularidad del jinete para fusionar las almas.

Partiendo de la línea Carbon, el Ultra va más allá para resaltar el concepto de singularidad. Cada Ultra está diseñado en torno a la biometría del piloto. El marco de aluminio se obtiene mediante un solo bloque de aluminio. Como escultor, la máquina de control numérico elimina el exceso de aluminio para encontrar formas y líneas agresivas, para satisfacer la potencia del motor, la velocidad y la personalidad también.

El Ultra Carbon es la obra de arte artesanal. Cada detalle está acabado a mano; cada pieza se mezcla con amor, cada línea se dibuja con habilidades.

La Ultra Carbon está equipada con dos discos delanteros Alligator de 380 mm con 8 pinzas, que se han diseñado específicamente solo para esta bicicleta eléctrica.

LA SEGURIDAD

El Carbon tiene frenos de doble disco de gran tamaño, potentes frenos hidráulicos, neumáticos gruesos y un gran manillar para aumentar su seguridad y diversión.
