White Motorcycle Concepts WMC250EV can reach a speed of 400 km/h

The WMC250EV records 70% less aerodynamic drag

The British company White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC) intends to break the world speed record for an electric motorcycle with the WMC250EV, which would be capable of reaching more than 400 km/h by greatly reducing aerodynamic drag.

The appearance of this super fast bike, extravagant at first glance, is very well calculated from the point of view of aerodynamics. The bike has a hole that goes from the front to the rear. According to its manufacturer, this system of holes, called “V-Air”, will allow it to be the most “aerodynamically efficient motorcycle in the world”.

After two years of development, the British company White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC) has presented a 2-wheel-drive electric motorcycle with hydraulic hub steering, the WMC250EV, with

which it wants to beat the world speed record in 2022. According to the company , the WMC250EV should be able to reach over 250 mph (402 km/h) thanks to a whopping 69% reduction in aerodynamic drag.

The bike uses a hydraulic steering system to control the front wheel. The rear wheel is chain-driven by a pair of 30kW electric motors, while two 20kW drive the front wheel. Together they provide a total of 100kW or 134 hp. The battery pack is located under the bodywork and has a capacity of 15 kWh.

Despite the WMC250EV curb weight being over 300kg, its creators aim to accelerate the electric motorcycle to speeds in excess of 402km/h, a feat that would surpass the Voxan Wattmann mark of 366.94km. /h.

Not only because of the drastic increase in speed and acceleration, but because its design also increases energy efficiency, increasing autonomy. In addition, says WMC, it represents an improvement in the stability of the motorcycle because it adheres more to the road, which allows other technological improvements that are not possible in traditional motorcycles.
